Report your table minimums here (COVID Edition)

6/17 Edit: Great info guys. Keep it coming! If something changes, please let me know.
I reached out to the mods asking about putting together a post to collect minimums for craps tables in Vegas and other places.
If this post gains traction, it may get a sticky. It may also help cut down on the amount of posts asking for this info.
I'll try to keep the body of the post updated. If information is correct, let me know.
Update 6/18 - Nevada Gaming Board announced masks required at table games in Nevada. I haven't heard that this is being enforced yet.
6/30: Keep reporting, especially any of you heading to Vegas. We would love to hear what the mins are on the strip
Let me know what casino, day or night and the minimums:

Nevada/Las Vegas minimums (COVID Edition) part 5

It was getting really tedious to edit a post with over 100 casinos in it. So I'm breaking it up to Nevada casinos and non-Nevada casinos.
If you are reporting about a casino, could you please try to include the following:
The more information we have, the better off we will be.
We all know that tables can change rapidly. I saw a table go from 25 to 15 to 100 at the Flamingo in the course of a few hours. I'll try to keep the mins what is reported the most and add other information in the comments like "found this table at $5 on graveyard shift" so people konw that isn't the norm
These tables can be a pain to maintain, so please provide as much information as possible. An informed roller is a beter roller.

Report your table minimums here (COVID Edition) part 3

Part 3 in the COVID series.
To try and make this list more helpful, I have added Weekend Day and Weekend Night, as those can be vastly different than during the week.
I'm trying to monitor Twitter and the Vegas Message Board to get some additional information.
Keep sharing all that wonderful goodness.
I'd like to update the wiki to talk about what sidebets casinos have, so if you know that info, I can add it to the table comments.

    1. My daily cuarantine drawing! Today I bring you a crazy concept: do you remember "Loop the loop" at Coney Island in 1910? Well, what if instead of a loop it had been built a cobra-roll with a launched by slingshot system powered by steam and a water-pool brakes? Would you like to give a try? (545 points, 45 comments)
    2. I was cleaning my desk when I found this illustration I drew a few years ago of a Vekoma's Junior Coaster, inspired in some marine-coast theming. What do you think? (537 points, 40 comments)
    3. Since I am quarantined in my home (Barcelona), I have thought about making a daily coaster-related drawing and this is what I have done today (yay! I love homemade coasters!). I hope you like it! (451 points, 14 comments)
    4. Another old coaster drawing in my desk drawers. This time it's a Mack Rides wild mouse with an elevator lift system (inside the tower) and a pre-drop curve through a tunnel inside the mountain. Originally I thought of this design for Tibidabo park in Barcelona. I hope you like it! (388 points, 37 comments)
    5. New drawing! This time it's a Gerstlauer bobsled-coaster set in an alpine/forest theming. I made this design more than 10 years ago in NL1 and now I've decided to draw it. What do you think? (384 points, 20 comments)
    6. My daily quarantine drawing! Today I tried to draw the u/vekomatjex coaster model changing some proportions but trying to preserve the essence of the project with the utmost respect for the original. I hope you like it! (209 points, 9 comments)
    7. My daily cuarantine drawing! We are all familiar with the debate over whether or not Zamperla's Disk'o Coasters are real coasters. Well, my concept is to take this model further and turn it, once and for all, into a real coaster. Forget the physics for a few seconds, what do you think about? (199 points, 23 comments)
    8. My daily quarantine drawing today is dedicated to Alicia Stella, one of my favorite Twitter accounts, an essential reference on Orlando parks information and a great communicator. I hope you like it! (134 points, 13 comments)
    9. Daily drawing! I present to you a strange park located in high palaces and full of coasters, rides, towers and labyrinths. u/McyDworker won yesterday's challenge, so the name of the park goes in his honor. I hope you like it! (132 points, 12 comments)
    10. Looks like Groot and Pinocchio are'nt going to "enjoy" this flume-ride today... My daily drawing in moments of quarantine from Barcelona. Hope you like it! (81 points, 2 comments)

    8. Quarantine Coaster Day Four: Taking into account all your help I’ve come up with a new system for smoothing the track, as well as lining it to reduce friction! Excuse the janky supports, they’ll be fixed soon too. (89 points, 26 comments)
    9. Quarantine Coaster Day 9: Following some extremely dodgy arrow-esque transitions the final helix is half way complete. And don’t worry about the distance left, there are going to be brakes and a transport section. (88 points, 13 comments)
    10. Quarantine Coaster build day two: the lift hill. Getting my coaster fix whilst stuck inside! (69 points, 10 comments)

A Game Mathematician's Perspective on Slot Games and the Casino Manipulation Video

Hi there! I'm a first-time poster inspired by the "How the Casino Industry Manipulates You" video.

I'm a Game Mathematician at a big company in the gaming industry, which basically means I create the math for land-based slot games. Here's what I can say about the games we make (and casinos in general):

  1. The gaming industry is the most regulated industry in the United States. Each reputable production company has a QA team or department that tests the RNGs, animations, game rules, art, and just about every component of the EGM (electronic gaming machine). After this process, the game gets sent off to one of the few third-party testing companies to further verify the game. The third and (hopefully) final part of this testing timeline is sending the game to each of its jurisdictions where they will be tested and approved by the jurisdiction's gaming control board. If at ANY point in this process there is something wrong with the game, something that does not have a simple remedy, the game goes back to step 1 and must repeat all of the following steps. This whole process takes about 6 months for a project that passes all the steps.
  2. Trends in gaming tend to last, at least for the last 6 years or so. It takes approximately 1.5-2 years between having the concept for a game to releasing it (of course there are exceptions to this rule, but this is ideal). So if a game company is piggy-backing on a successful title or game mechanic from their own company or a competitor, and if multiple companies are doing so, then that style of game will see support later on. Asian themes have taken off in the last decade, and now each new game either starts out with an Asian theme or has a clone (same math, different art) with Asian theming. The hold-and-spin game mechanic (where certain symbols stay on a the screen and other ones re-spin) has been dominating casinos for 5 years now, and the trend will most likely not stop.
  3. Production companies try to get as much information as possible from the casino floors as possible. There are monthly third-party reports from gaming research companies that work with many casinos across the United States and other countries that companies pay to see game performance compared to house average (and other stats) for different parameters (i.e. newly indexed games, leased games, for-sale games, etc.). Casinos also subscribe to these reports and may base their next placement decisions on them. There are also certain statistics that production companies can get that are private, but those are often limited in scope and are left to much interpretation.
  4. The sales departments of production companies strategize to help casinos make their purchases and literal placement on the casino floor. Some games should be put next to ones from different game families, and others should just stand out apart from any other game (not live on a "bank" with non-family games). The positioning of a game on a casino floor can certainly make or break its performance. The merchandise/signage for a game also comes into play at this stage. Players might be taken in to play a game if it has a popping LED sign with animations rather than a similar game without as much presence.
  5. From a game design perspective, we try as hard as possible to make sure players will come back to the EGM on their next casino trip. We aim to minimize the bad experiences a player can have while keeping a eye on how many great experiences we provide. We perform session analysis on both statistical and anecdotal levels to see if we are meeting the goals for that specific project. We also often think of the players we are trying to target. "Will the player attracted to this game put in $40 or $400?" Ultimately we are trying to give them what they want, while still taking their money. Entertainment players will want to see bonuses and cool features happen whereas gambler players will want that one super great hit with plenty of mediocre wins in-between.
  6. There are MANY myths related to slot games. First of all, "timing" isn't real, at least for modern games (up to the last 20 years or so). An RNG is pulled with each press of the "bet" button. Furthermore each wagered spin (each bet made) is NOT dependent in any way/shape/form on the previous spin's outcome. There is one exception to this rule in one mechanic, but the mathematics of it are hard to explain in layman's terms. Slot machines don't rubber-band, they can't switch to a losing streak after a win streak. Essentially, everything is random when it comes to a slot game, so don't think otherwise.

Thank you for reading my novel.

P.S. I'm from Reno, NV. For the record, 1) it's pronounced Neh-VAAAH-Duh and 2) our casinos are pretty split between the Friedman design (Circus-Circus, El Dorado, Peppermill) and the Adult Playground design (GSR, Atlantis, Silver Legacy).

Sports Wagering advice by The Outlaw Micheal Tomsik

Hello from The Outlaw Micheal Tomsik. Months after I got out of the sports investment business as I owned Micheal Tomsik Sports Investment Company and Outlaw Sports Betting Club the laws in America started to change with legalizing wagering in other states besides Nevada.
ABOUT ME:
I opened the first sports investment company in Reno Nevada in 2015 when it was legalized by the Nevada Gaming Commission. I had known the laws where going to change and I had been running test runs and gambling on sports myself since 2014.
I published a book in 2016 and two more in 2017 all about my companies and my sports wagering.
Not only that after many people doubted me I proved it live on facebook, steemit and youtube.
I have several books on Amazon CLICK HERE to see or read them!
THE SPORTS WAGERING INDUSTRY:
New Jersey and Delaware seem to be the first States to jump on board however MGM and BOYD Gaming also are jumping in along with William Hill Sports Books. Also Churchill Downs just signed a new contract with the Golden Nugget Casino in New Jersey.
So not only sports companies will benefit with expansion into other states. Soon other states will be opening up as well as the states and companies expand so what does this mean to America and sports wagering?
Looks like sports wagering is gonna be a huge. Industry estimates are in the billions of dollars in revenues. However some of the professional sports leagues are fighting it a little still. I do not see it turning back however. Legal sports wagering could offer states new revenues and cut down on illegal wagering and crimes associated with illegal wagering. States that bring in sports wagering offer a new service and provide a safe environment for those people to wager on sports. It is a bit unknown at the moment so we will watch and see where this all leads down the road.
SERVICES THAT PICK GAMES:
Another industry that may expand is companies that charge a fee to pick sports games for people that can offer you a good wager. There are several companies in Nevada and other places however they actually are not wagering on the games or sporting events them selves. I personalty do not like these services in my opinion they are deceiving to the customers. These companies have no money wagered on the games only the customers are the one actually wagering on the events. When I had my two companies I made all the wagers in Reno sports books and picked all the games. I had a recorded a 70 percent correct pick ratio and offered my investors about a 10 percent increase over the investment amount they made. I have had a feud with some of these pick companies and even had to block them because I posted my wagers and I got slammed a few times from my wagers and picks. Over the 3 years I wagered sports for my investment companies I wagered 10 games per day five days per week. That right 50 games per week or 200 per month. I wagered form June to April so 11 months out of the year. So on average I wagered 2200 games per year over four years. That means I wagered 8.800 sporting events. With a 70 percent pick ratio I won a little over 6,000 events.
Recently I saw a service advertising online that offers to pick games. This company states on the web page a man from RENO NEVADA makes $6,450 per month from sports investing. The article says the person makes $2500 to $4000 per month. I could believe that however than I read onward.
The article continues and even shows a check from a FAKE CASINO that is suppose to be in Reno Nevada. However there are five sports book in Reno.
William Hill, Atlantis, Peppermill, Harrahs, and a new one at Baldinis Casino.
The article goes on with showing a bank account that is blurred out from Bank of America. There may be better services out there for me here is my advice to anyone who wants to wager sports professional or use sports wagering as an investment or try to become rich off sports wagering.
THE OUTLAW ADVICE ON SPORTS WAGERING:
ONE:
If your wagering for fun like few bucks on a game for entertainment it is one thing. If your wagering sports as a living you must have knowledge of sports betting lines and how and what makes lines move. Learning sports wagering is must knowing a point spreads, money lines, over and underl or how to read these numbers and understand them is needed. If you do not do this do not even attempt to become a professional sports gambler or investor.
TWO:
If your deciding sports gambling is for you there is more to do than place wagers. Research your games, keep track of wins and loses, injuries, n weather, and other factors play in to games and lines set by the sports books. I worked harder doing my investment companies and wagering personally than I did at any job. If your doing this for an investment or to make money it is about that not about winning and losing or your favorite team. It is not about beating the sports book. This is where people go wrong it is a business and it is about making money.
THREE:
Speaking of Money in my books I talk about SEED MONEY or a BANK ROLL to start with. For this you need to go back to rule ONE knowing how sports books operate. How much you can place on a wager, how much will it pay off, and can you afford to lose a wager. Knowing how much money you can afford to start with and be ready to lose it as well, It is the name of the game in sports wagering. Though in my books I feel I came up with a pretty good system for wagering sports for investments and making money. After all I did make my investors 10% more than the amount they invested and I personally wagered an entire year on my own making a living wage that compared to $15 per hour.
Sure I worked in sports books in Nevada for 8 years, and operated 2 investment companies for 3 years and gambled professionally on my own for 1 year. So I have 12 years experience in the SPORTS WAGERING investment and business. In my books I prove you can make a living wagering on sports. However like any business or operation you have to prepare to lose money as well. How much you invest and how much you wager and how you wager is up to you but make a plan, have a budget, and do not stray from it.
I have been thinking about bringing OUTLAW SPORTS BETTING CLUB BACK we will see maybe this football season!

Things to not do in Reno

The city fathers can't be trusted to tell you what to do with your free time. The city mothers can, but I haven't been all that good listening to her since she called my girlfriend a whore when I brought her home for Thanksgiving. My sister brought her girlfriend home for Christmas and didn't catch shit, but mom may have just missed the concept. She thought the reason they shared a single set of dangly earrings was just fashion, and suggesting that they import the trend onto the next American Girl doll line. But I digress. The Chamber of Commerce is real helpful with civic sponsored festivals and all that, telling you how safe street vibrations is or how interesting the walking tour of old houses converted into lawyers offices can be. Most Renovians don't need me to tell them they are irredeemably full of crap, so what are we to do? Well, here are a few things you can and should avoid and something close enough that's worth your time, money or morals.
The Modern Art Museum. Don't call it that though: It is the "Nevada Museum of ART", and county ordinance requires any resident hearing it referred to differently to punch the offender in the crotch. Renovians gush about this enormous black building that looks like a badly failed baking experiment or an office tower t retrofitters didn't get to before the quake of aught three.
The building is enormous and contains almost no art. Seriously, there are two very small walking galleries containing the 13# th most important collection of unknown 19# th century American painters west of the Rockies and an exhibit space hosting some minimalists traveling show or (more often) damn all nothing.
It is impressive to people who have never been to a real art museum in a real metropolitan city or attended an auction preview at Butterfield & Butterfield. The only truly impressive space in the whole building is the café, which serves a damned fine weekend brunch.
Instead, go to the National Car Museum, once known as the Harrah's Collection. I'm not a car person, but even I find this place impressive. They have more cars on display than the NMU has bits of canvas, their descriptions are more insightful and seriously, isn't Reno more of a car town?
The Great Nugget rib cook off. Man, this used to be a great event twenty years ago. As an American white male I would gladly eat every meal of my life in meat-sickle form, and a venue where you wander from one booth to the next with a frozen margarita in one hand and a bone in another gets nine points out of ten (ten if you can get someone to wheel you around to the booths).
It's an event killed by its own success and has been a waste of our time for ten years now. First, you don't wander any more, you stand around. It takes half an hour to negotiate any food line except kettle corn, and I didn't come to a rib cook off for fucking kettle corn. Lines go full Disneyland for the prime eating hours, you may need to pack a lunch. Second, it is very pricey for what you get, you're going to pay twice what you pay for a rack anywhere else, buying it two meat-sickles at a time. Finally, the quality of Que has dropped as mass production has kicked up and the joints around town have markedly bumped up their games. Dave's BBQ, Men Wielding Fire, Brothers, Carolina's, all are better than the average competitor. Instead, go to Virginia City for the Camel and Ostrich races. Virginia City is a lot more fun to wander around with a beer than Sparks, and watching some kid try to stay on top of a panicking ostrich for a hundred yards is much better bang for the buck than watching the two remaining members Whitesnake lead the new singer through the bands thirty year old hits.
Virginia Street Casinos. Renovians don't go to the casinos much to begin with, unless like me they have discovered that the buffets are an adequate substitute for the bankrupt Fresh Choice franchise. You end up there because friends are visiting from out of town, or you work there, or you need a not nasty toilet during the middle of the Italian Festival (rebranded from Columbus Day).
A shame really, many of the casinos offer good entertainment, a clean safe environment, a lot better food choices at three in the morning than elsewhere and prime people watching. And there's few better places to watch a big game than on sixty screens in a sports book.
It's just that the downtown casinos make us want to cry. Virginia Street hasn't been walkable for years. It's stuffed with T-shirt shops, vagrants, pawn shops, drunks, tattoo parlors, derelict old motels, mentally ill vagrant drunks, and lots of flat vacant space. Take your friends to the Grand Sierra or the Peppermill or the Atlantis. Being isolated by themselves they are somewhat lifeless and anticeptic, but at least they don't make you want to cry.
All these fucking Tahoe franchises. This town has its own traditional eateries, why does every venture in Truckee believe that Reno is a mecca for over priced casual foods? BurgerMe makes a fine burger, but it just makes burgers. Beach hut Deli makes a fine sandwich, but it just makes sandwiches. Squeeze In makes a fine hippy style omelet, but breakfast is the one meal Reno does right without any help. I have no idea what RedHut is doing here, it doesn't do anything well.
The only things these businesses have in common are that their prices are way, way too high for Reno, they're Tahoe prices, and there's just as good or better home grown storefronts selling better for cheaper.
Burning Man. This one is a bit of a cheat, because Renovians by and large never did burning man. Reno is already dry, hot and windy, the last thing we're going to do is go 'hmmm… I bet if we drive an hour out into the god forsaking desert we can find a waterless waste that has all this and more dust to boot!'
Most Renovians have more sense than this. No, Burning man was the bastard offspring of Bay Area ex hippies and RenFaire refugees in the late eighties and early nineties. Tired of being squeezed out of their own festivals, the Black Rock Desert was a conscious choice of a god forsaken patch nobody else would ever want, where they could go to be artsy freaks to their heart's content. Too bad watching artsy freaks and pretending you are one is so popular, and that they've been bumped again, but hey, there's plenty of waterless hell holes in Nevada, go find another one. Instead, you should do anything else that involves trees, running water and less dust.
4# th of July Nugget fireworks. Hey, even the nerdy, bullied kids need someone to look down on. Reno's uber dweeb is Sparks. As a transplant myself, I am puzzled and amazed that Sparks is and remains a separate municipality. The burg just doesn't seem to have an independent existence. It's like if South Meadows broke off and founded the new city of Double Diamond. The answer of course is that its old, the town started many years ago when Reno itself was little more than a toll bridge and fuck you if you think we're giving it up now.
Mostly, we just think of it as a seedy part of Reno now, regardless of what their city charter and police cars say. It seems like the only prosperous businesses in the whole town are the In and Out Burger, and the Nugget. The Nugget tries to breath life into Victorian Square, though the movie theater just closed down and they're building new condos over most of their event parking, but they try. One of the ways they try is by owning the fourth of July lately.
It hasn't always been so. Until the '08 recession, the better display was put on by Reno, out at Rancho San Rafael Park. Ever since then the city has cheaped out, mumbling something about how the Aces will shoot off something if the team is in town, and letting Star Spangled Sparks hold the field.
A shame, because there are very few places less suited to a fireworks display than Victorian Square. There's no grass to sit on. They don't turn off the street lights, so all the fireworks are muted and washed out. The post show traffic jam is epic. It's time for Reno to remember that they want to be a city again and grow a pair. The '08 recession is over, buy some god damned fireworks.
Finally, Hot August Nights. Instead, do Hot August Nights. This event is spread all over Reno and Sparks, and how much you enjoy it will be determined by what venues you choose and what cars you look at. Choose wisely.
