Quick Analysis: Patrick Mahomes' Impact on AFC Championship & Super Bowl Odds

Ahead of the Conference Championship games this weekend, all eyes are on the recovery of Chief’s star QB Patrick Mahomes who, for the time being, is still languishing under the NFL’s concussion protocol.
While stand-in QB Chad Henne did an admirable job getting the Chiefs over the line against the Browns, the betting markets will move on a Mahomes decision.
Ahead of the Divisional playoff round, Cloudbet was offering Super Bowl LV winner odds on the Chiefs as favourites at 2.86/+186, with Green Bay behind them at 5.07/+407. With Mahomes in question ahead of the Bills game, current odds are showing that has switched, with the Packers now favoured at 2.94/+194 and Kansas at 3.06/+206.
But before we get to the Super Bowl, bettors may find value in the AFC Championship game itself. Current main line odds put the Chiefs at -3 2.00/+100 and the Bulls at +3 1.85/-117, but if Mahomes is cleared to play, expect them to shift to a 6 point spread.
There could be value in placing a bet now if you reckon Mahomes will be good to go, and if you think he’ll be able to play to his full potential.
Or maybe the Chiefs will assume that, yeah, Hennething is possible - and place their faith in their backup once more, allowing Mahomes to step up in the big game?
Be sure to check out the Cloudbet Blog for our NFL coverage. We’ll be posting the Conference playoff preview soon, but in the meantime take a look at our posts on the Divisional round and the Wild Card weekend.

Be very careful placing bets on this site. One support agent contradicts another! It does not say you cannot be a USA citizen , just that jurisdiction must be legal.
Full story:
Cloudbet, I am very disappointed as a new customer of your website. Basically the situation is: I am a USA citizen traveling abroad in Europe (France currently), I placed a 1.0 BTC bet on the Houston Rockets. They lost and then I proceeded to deposit 3.0 BTC, which I took a bet on Tsitipas tennis and won with plus odds. However, once that bet won, before I even attempted a withdrawal, I receive a message from the security team asking for full documentation, photo ID, bill statements, etc. I went to live chat and explained that I am a USA citizen on vacation in legal jurisdiction. She said this was completely fine so I proceeded to send my documentation. Once they saw I was a citizen of the USA they claimed that I was unable to gamble here flat out, which is never mentioned in the terms of service (3.4 and 3.5 say you are allowed to place bets anywhere in legal jurisdiction). I have attached screenshots for proof and hopefully we can get this resolved so the warning to others in my situation and the OSGA does not have to get involved. Thank you.
Adding supporting documents from two cloudbet employees saying it was ok to bet as a USA citizen as long as in legal jurisdiction (France)
Supporting documents:

Added another picture of mod Lily saying it’s fine I’m a USA citizen.

UPDATE:
After contacting attorneys in both France and the United States, a legal case can be made both for the substantial losses of funds (won) and insolvent payouts, the site will be faced with the possibility of collapsing completely or temporary shutdown with an overlook by the OSGA. They really wanted that 3.5 BTC apparently, I will go full force to receive this money back and I STRONGLY urge everyone not to deposit a single cent (satoshi) to this website. I will continue updates here publicly and through twitter and any other sportsbook review sites.

Follow-up about the guy that was owed 330 btc on CloudBet

TL;DR:- I have been following this case closely because I was curious about it and finally it's resolved! The guy is from the US. And for the record speaks PERFECT English, lol. When CloudBet asked him for his ID, he got scared and tried to manipulate the situation to hide the fact that he is breaking the Terms of Service, so he ended up sending a fake ID of someone from the Philippines in fear of not getting paid out. Eventually, he admitted his mistake, sent in his real ID, then got paid the entire 330 btc, which was not only his initial deposit(s), but also his winnings. I guess CloudBet paid both instead of voiding all his bets like they usually do in such cases because the case went viral, kind of? I am not sure, but they also signed a message from a wallet that holds 1157 btc so they are definitely trying to prove something to the community here.
Hi all,
There has been some discontent in the forums and we would like to take this opportunity to clear a few issues up.
Firstly, please be reminded that Cloudbet does NOT accept any USA players.
USA players are blocked from registering accounts, and are blocked from making bets. If any player from USA attempts to make an account, they see a message saying USA players are prohibited and are not able to sign up.
To reiterate, players from USA are NOT allowed on Cloudbet.
If we have strong reason to believe that a player has deliberately and willingly circumvented our terms of service by connecting from USA (or another restricted territory), we freeze their account while we conduct an investigation, and ask the player to provide documentation on their residency. Please note that this is only when we strongly suspect that a player has connected from USA, ie, there is specific evidence to suggest this.
In most cases, the player is cooperative and provides us with accurate documentation about their account and residency. If they are a USA resident, we close their account permanently, and return their account balance. This has been the case with several vocal users in the forum. Sometimes this can take some time, as every case is slightly different, but is always resolved eventually provided the player furnishes us with accurate information.
If they are connecting from a non-restricted country, we reopen their account and they can resume using their account without limitation.
Please note that in all cases where the player has cooperated, they have received their entire account balance, and had their accounts closed only if they were connecting from a prohibited jurisdiction (or there was a separate unrelated issue). If any forum members in this situation would come forward and confirm receipt of their account balances in full, this would be appreciated.
However - on rare occasions, the player is NOT cooperative and provides us with deliberately falsified or fraudulent information. In these cases, our investigations are significantly more complicated and time consuming.
There is one specific case that has received a lot of attention from the community - Swofty - as the dollar amount is particularly large. Here is our comment on the case:
As we have a duty of privacy to all of our players, we are limited in what we can share. The player may have shared some details, but we are not able to share any specifics or personal data. That said, we can share definitively that the player has knowingly and deliberately provided untruthful, falsified and fraudulent information to both Cloudbet and the community. The account holder is NOT the person that he/she states it is, nor are they in the location they state. The player also knowingly and deliberately circumvented our terms of service by connecting from a prohibited jurisdiction. The reason the player has not been paid yet is entirely to do with them circumventing our terms of service and providing falsified and fraudulent information, and nothing to do with our bitcoin liquidity (more on that below). As the customer provided us with definitively falsified information, we suggested they reach out to Curacao Egaming - with whom we hold a licence - for assistance. This is the correct escalation for any player issues. We intend to resolve this issue in a manner completely fair to everyone once we receive truthful and accurate information from the player. It appears as if the player is now cooperating, so we hope to have a resolution to this case soon.
We have been encouraged by the way the community has responded to rally behind the player and help hold Cloudbet accountable, however in this case the player has not been truthful with the community. We encourage the player to share a more accurate story.
Separately, concerns have been raised about Cloudbet's ability to service the player's withdrawal immediately. You needn’t be concerned - we hold enough funds to cover all of our player balances several times over, and we would never accept a bet that we could not pay in full immediately. We have been around since 2013 and have always celebrated our largest winners, and paid extremely promptly.
We would like to address this in the way requested by the community -- a signed message from a wallet that holds sufficient funds to cover any liabilities that may be due to this player.
We have signed a message from a wallet holding ~1157 BTC. All outputs spent to this wallet are from wallets that belong to us, and had not moved in over a year (we sent them to a single wallet for the purpose of this exercise) so they are not newly acquired coins. We would be happy to sign another message from any of the source wallets to prove ownership if required.
Wallet: 16vk7DahVgj4VsfKKdr1pG3QJ9FvzXpdJN Message: cloudbet.com // no USA players allowed Signature: HxO5QwkA/UNVePahBUzYgWL4Zz5syTC1H6/LeHICsvW0MYG9Q+PgOjNbzVXgXsLbadzFO2wLlz25nsbaXkeTXo4=
You can verify the above message in your bitcoin client, or by using the web interface here
I hope that addresses the community's immediate concerns. If anybody has any further questions or follow-up, please feel free to contact us directly via our support channels, or post a reply in this thread and we will do our best to address them in a timely manner.
Once more, to reiterate, Cloudbet does NOT accept USA players.
Thanks for your continued support, patience, and diligence.
The Cloudbet Team
Hello everyone,
Ronnie is correct in what he is saying, the delay is entirely my fault. I am from the USA and I didn't even worry about my location or withdrawing bitcoin until I got an email from them asking for my ID and things like that.
At that point, I got very scared. I went from really excited about my winnings to very, very scared I wouldn't get any. I have a good online friend in the Phillipines and I asked for help. I had him give his documents and ID that said the account was from the Phillipines. This was a mistake. As of right now, I have sent cloudbet my real credentials (ID, etc) to cloudbet and they know who I am. I want everyone, including cloudbet, to know that nothing I did was meant to manipulate or mislead cloudbet in anyway. All my wagers were made in good faith and I won them fair and square.
I should have been upfront about my situation from the start and this situation would have gone much more smoothly. I can also say that even though a resolution to this issue has not been come up with yet Ronnie is correct in saying we have recently been in touch and we are making progress on coming up with a solution. I have to say I am thankful for cloudbet being reasonable about my situation especially considering my misleading them about my location. I am very, very hopeful we will come to a conclusion soon. I will keep everybody here updated when this is all over.
Thanks for listening.
Swofty

A guide on bitcoin

A few people have asked me about how to buy bitcoin and how to use bitcoin. So I thought I'd write a quick guide on how to buy bitcoin and how to send bitcoin. At the end I give some bonus information on what bitcoin is and how it works. Bitcoin is best demonstrated rather than explained and most people just want to jump right in and get some to see for themselves, so I'll start this guide with how to buy some and how to send people money with it. Plus most people reading this might only be interested in sending their league dues.

BUYING BITCOIN

There are a number of ways to purchase bitcoin all of them relatively easy. I will recommend two of the most popular ways to buy bitcoin.
Coinbase Coinbase is probably the most popular exchange in the world. Coinbase is very easy to use and is probably the cheapest place to buy bitcoins. This is my recommended way to purchase bitcoins. You will need to connect your account to a US checking account via the ACH system.
Circle circle allows you to purchase bitcoin using a credit card or debit card. I haven't purchased through them, but I believe they require ID verification so it may take some time to setup. not too sure.
Libertyx Libertx is a very simple way to purchase bitcoins. You go to a Libertyx location and tell the cashier you are purchasing a libertyx pin. you give the cashier the amount you want in cash and they give you a receipt with a pin number. Enter that pin number in your account on libertyx and bitcoin is deposited to your account.
Localbitcoins Localbitcoins is probably the fastest way to purchase bitcoins. You can go to the website and find someone in your area that is selling bitcoins for cash. If you find someone you want to buy from, you open a trade with that person and plan to meet in a public place like starbucks. This method doesn't require you to link a bank account. This method will be a little more expensive than purchasing through an exchange like coinbase.
Find a bitcoin ATM Bitcoin ATM's are popping up around the country. Each of them work a little differently and any exchange fees are set by the owner. So how expensive they are depends on the one you are using. To use an ATM you deposit cash and bitcoins are deposited into your bitcoin wallet.

SENDING AND RECEIVING BITCOINS

Bitcoin Wallets A bitcoin wallet is used to store your bitcoin, send bitcoin, and receive bitcoin. You can think of it like as an email account. If you are using coinbase, Libertyx, or localbitcoins then you are already given a bitcoin wallet with your account. If you only plan to use bitcoin for the one purpose of sending your league dues, then this may be all you need and you won't need to bother having an additional app on your phone or computer (skip ahead to sending bitcoins). But, if you are interested in using bitcoins then you should look into what wallet applications are available. Bitcoin.org has a great guide on what wallets are available. Look over which ones are available for each platform. Here are my personal recommendations for each platform. * Android: Mycelium * iOS: greenaddress * Windows: greenaddress * Mac: Electrum
I haven't used android or mac, but have heard good things about mycelium and electrum. A note about some of these web wallets. Many of them will require users to protect their account with as much security as possible. This is because bitcoin is a lot like cash and you are responsible for keeping it safe. A strong password and other measures are important to keeping your bitcoins secure.
Send bitcoin Every wallet has a send feature. You should be able to find this feature by going to the "send bitcoin" tab someplace in your wallet. Sending bitcoin will always require two pieces of information: 1) Who are you sending it to? Every wallet has a bitcoin address that can be shared with other people to receive payments. If you are sending someone bitcoin you must ask for their bitcoin address to send to. For example my bitcoin address is: 3Epf4PDbu3yMQbJDNzbfQDwnFfzufovVvd . I can share this address with anyone in the world and they can send money to it. Since the address is very long and hard to type out, a QR code is usually associated with it so that smartphones can scan the code for easier input. Here is the associated QR code with that address. This payment address is where you can send bitcoins as payment for the league dues.
2) How much are you sending? The amount in bitcoins you send depends on the exchange rate you are using. If you are only using bitcoin to send your buy in price, then you just need to send the amount you just purchased. Many applications have built in conversion calculators. You can enter in the amount in dollars and it will convert it automatically to the amount in bitcoins you need to send. To see live conversion rates you can use a website to view various market rates. A couple popular ones are bitcoinaverage and tradeblock. Bitcoin average provides a volume weighted average price of bitcoin across multiple exchanges. Tradeblock gives live rates across multiple exchanges. You can see the prices of each online exchange changing in the top right corner of the page. For example: at the time of this writing bitcoin is trading at $282.14 per bitcoin on coinbase. If you were to send $20 using this exchange rate, you would send 0.071 bitcoins.

BONUS INFORMATION ON HOW BITCOIN WORKS, WHY IT'S SO POPULAR, AND HOW YOU CAN MAKE MONEY

What is bitcoin? Andreas Antonopoulos explains bitcoin the best in his book Mastering Bitcoin.
Bitcoin is a collection of concepts and technologies that form the basis of a digital money ecosystem. Units of currency called bitcoins are used to store and transmit value among participants in the bitcoin network. Bitcoin users communicate with each other using the bitcoin protocol primarily via the Internet, although other transport networks can also be used. The bitcoin protocol stack, available as open source software, can be run on a wide range of computing devices, including laptops and smart phones, making the technology easily accessible.
Unlike traditional currencies, bitcoins are entirely virtual. There are no physical coins, or even digital coins per se. The coins are implied in transactions that transfer value from sender to recipient. Users of bitcoin own keys that allow them to prove ownership of transactions in the bitcoin network, unlocking the value to spend it and transfer it to a new recipient. Those keys are often stored in a digital wallet on each user’s computer. Possession of the key that unlocks a transaction is the only prerequisite to spending bitcoins, putting the control entirely in the hands of each user.
Bitcoin is a distributed, peer-to-peer system. As such, there is no central server or point of control. Bitcoins are created through a process called “mining,” which involves looking for a solution to a difficult problem. Any participant in the bitcoin network (i.e., any device running the full bitcoin protocol stack) may operate as a miner, using their computer’s processing power to attempt to find solutions to this problem. Every 10 minutes on average, a new solution is found by someone who then is able to validate the transactions of the past 10 minutes and is rewarded with brand new bitcoins. Essentially, bitcoin mining decentralizes the currency-issuance and clearing functions of a central bank and replaces the need for any central bank with this global competition.
Why is it so popular? and Why does it have value? These can be hard questions to answer. Bitcoin has advantages over traditional currencies. First thing to understand is that bitcoin is not a currency it's merely a transfer of value written on a public ledger. Currency is just the first application of bitcoin. Bitcoin is like the internet of money, a network for propagating value and securing the ownership of digital assets via distributed computation. There is a lot more to bitcoin than first meets the eye. Here are a few important qualities that make bitcoin popular and gives it value to people:
How you can make money with bitcoin It's very easy to make money with bitcoin just by sitting at your computer doing nothing. I will list a few methods here:
1) Sell bitcoins on localbitcoins If you have cheap access to bitcoins on coinbase then you can sell bitcoins for cash at a profit. Simply create an advertisement to locally sell bitcoins on localbitcoins and set your price 5% above coinbase. When someone contacts you through the website, you buy their bitcoins on coinbase and then sell it to them for 5% higher than you just bought it for. This sounds ridiculous, but people are willing to pay 5% more to skip setting up a coinbase account and purchasing on localbitcoins. If you are interested in doing this you can read my advertisement.
2) Sell bitcoins for amazon gift cards People are willing to pay a lot more money for the convenience of buying bitcoins with gift cards. You can sell your bitcoins online for amazon gift cards on paxful.com or localbitcoins.com. I have sold my bitcoins at up to 50% markup on paxful.com.
3) Save money using bitcoins to buy stuff on amazon and starbucks Yes! That's correct! you can actually use bitcoins to buy stuff on amazon and starbucks. The website https://purse.io/ lets you purchase stuff on amazon using bitcoin. You create a wishlist on amazon, paste your wishlist on purse.io and send bitcoins to the wallet they give you. You can save up to 15-20% pretty easily using this method. If you want to buy starbucks at a 5% discount you can use https://coffee.foldapp.com/.
4) Play the market You can also buy your bitcoins and hold on to them and try to sell them later at a higher price. The price of bitcoin can go up and down like a stock. You can also try to buy them on one exchange and sell them at another exchange at a higher price. This way of making money can be risky and not as profitable as the ones above.
5) Invest in startup companies Bitlendingclub lists startup companies and bitcoin traders that are asking for loans in bitcoin. You can find a user on that site and invest in their company. It's up to you to find someone trustworthy and who you which users have the best chance at being successful.
6) Gambling! There are several online casinos and betting agencies that accept bitcoin. cloudbet.com has an online casino and sports betting. Nitrogensports is the go to for online sports betting.
This is all I have for now. This should be more than enough to get started with. If you are interested in learning more or have questions you can contact me.

Getting ready for week 3's bets: Chivas @ FCD

Last week, we saw FCD at SKC and Vancouver at Chivas. FCD pulled off a tie against the reigning MLS Champs at their home opener. Oscar Pareja must be doing something right.
Highlights (FCD @ SKC): http://www.mlssoccer.com/video/2014/03/15/highlights-sporting-kc-vs-fc-dallas
Highlights (VAN @ CHIVAS): http://www.mlssoccer.com/video/2014/03/16/highlights-chivas-usa-vs-vancouver-whitecaps
What I saw: Chivas and FCD are off to a strong start this season. This will be FCD's home opener. We've not seen Chivas on the road yet. Both have a strong latin components, but FCD had the harder match against SKC (Vancouver seems awful on the road, and under new coach). This will be a great match-up.
I think FCD will pull this off. I could not find betting links. MLS lines usually show up (on cloudbet) just a few days before the games. I don't know why: it's the only league that takes that long.
My pick: FCD ML or pick 'em / double-chance.
